Dont Forget to Stop and Smell the Roses

A few words from the A.M. Cuddy Gardens.

Happy Friday to everyone, hope your work week has been productive and exhilarating as it has been here at Cuddys! This is the final week before the August Open House. A lot of work has gone into the gardens to prepare for the final Open House of the summer. That's right this Saturday (August 16th) is the last opportunity for the public to come out and enjoy the mystical botanical gardens of Strathroy. For this summer anyways, of course there will be more open houses and plant sales in the future!

Hard Work Pays Off

We have all come together and worked really hard this week in preparation of this event. Gardens have been weeded, re-edged and even a top dressing of fresh mulch! They sure look amazing! Garden editing is always taking place, cleaning up spreading colonizing plants. We even cleared up our brush pile this week, feeding it through a wood chipper making some of our own mulch. Of course the lawns have been manicured to their pristine golf course likeness, are they ever the best for picnics! So come on out, pack a lunch, bring the kids and we will see you tomorrow! :)

Some high interest points of A.M. Cuddy Gardens include:
  • Alpine Garden where you can find the native Prickly Pear Cactus along with other rare and endangered succulents and cacti.
  • Perennial Borders that are currently in full bloom.

  • The Dry Garden that has won design awards

  •  The Patio Garden which is so peaceful and tranquil
  • Of course you wouldn't miss the plant sale.

Hope to see you here!
